Podcasting: Wizzard Media Announces More Than 118 Million Words Archived For Search

PITTSBURGH—-Wizzard Media (AMEX:WZE), the world’s largest podcasting network, announced today that they have archived in excess of 118 million words through the Company’s proprietary admatch technology process, with more than 10,000 words identified as keywords with potential significance to the advertising industry. The database of keywords was populated by processing over 800,000 hours of audio and video shows available on the Wizzard Media Network.

Apple: iPod Shuffle Price drops to $49; new 2GB Model at $69

Apple has dropped the price of the iPod Shuffle to $49 (from $79) today. The $49 iPod Shuffle stores 1GB of songs or up to 240 songs in 128-Kbps AAC format. Meanwhile, a new 2GB model has also been introduced at $69.

“At just $49, the iPod shuffle is the most affordable iPod ever,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPod Product Marketing. “The new 2GB model lets music lovers bring even more songs everywhere they go in the impossibly small iPod shuffle.”

The Shuffle is still available in the same colors: silver, blue, green, purple and red. The 2GB model won’t be available until later this month.

22 Million iPods sold: Record Quarter for Apple - investors disappointed

Apple reported a 35 percent rise in revenue to $9.6 billion. The company said it shipped 2.3 million Mac computers, 44 percent more than during the same period last year. Hard to believe, but analysts were still disappointed with Apple’s second-quarter forecast of $6.8 billion in sales and 94 cents per share, less than the $7 billion in sales and $1.09 per share they had predicted. Apple to introduce pink iPod nano ahead of Valentine’s Day

Apple said Tuesday that it has added a new pink iPod nano to its lineup of digital media players just in time for next month’s celebration of love.

The much-requested pink iPod nano is available immediately in an 8GB model for $199 and features a two-inch display which lets users watch movie rentals, TV shows and music videos purchased from the iTunes Store. (more…)
